Story

AYF Camp Haiastan Established 1951 - The 1st Armenian Summer Camp in the United States, located in Franklin, MA.

The mission of Camp Haiastan:
To promote the preservation of Armenian culture through Armenian camping and fellowship, that is affordable to all families.

Camp Haiastan was built by its founders in 1951 as a place for the youth to hold onto their Armenian identity and develop lifelong friendships. As the flagship facility for the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF), the camp serves as a year-round gathering place for Armenian activities such as educational weekends, church picnics and athletic tournaments. While many new amenities have been added over the years (New Arts & Crafts Building (2019), New Staff Lounge & Laundry Room (2019), New Directors Quarters (2018) & New Summer Office (2018), many things have stayed the same. The cozy “Cabin Circle” promotes our Armenian family atmosphere and our weekly dances with live Armenian music and Sunday picnics are all timeless Armenian traditions.

Each year, Camp Haiastan provides a unique Summer Camp experience filled with creativity, friends, and fun. Our overnight program is designed for campers ages 8-16, while our day camp program is designed for campers ages 5-7. Our fun and unforgettable camp experience promotes the development of self-esteem, independence, and responsibility for all campers
