Hi, my name is Joshua Fitzgerald and I am a second year missionary with Biking for Babies (B4B)!

I joined B4B last year as a way for me to use my love of cycling for something greater than myself. Initially it was very surface level. I knew I would be riding for a good cause, and it would be a fun bike tour of the Midwest. Once I got really involved with the mission it became so much more. I saw such generous love and compassion from my fellow missionaries, the B4B staff, my mission partners, and all of our hosts who helped us out along the way. Reflecting on this, I realized that what I experienced is but a small fraction of the support that pregnancy resource centers show to the women and families who visit them.

This mission is close to me since I've witnessed a difficult and unexpected pregnancy in my own family. Although I was young, I saw how much of a struggle everyday life was and the support that is necessary during a difficult pregnancy. I also got to see all the blessings that have come with welcoming life even when it's not a good time. For my mom, this support came from my dad, family and friends. For the women we serve, it comes from our pregnancy resource center partners that we support like my partner center, TLC Pregnancy Services in Elgin, IL. I'm excited to be partnering with them for the second year in a row! They do great work to help women and families in my local community while sharing the gospel.

This year I will be the rider Team Leader for the Michigan Team! I had such a great experience last year and I'm excited to help provide that for my team this time around. I've seen the difference that good leadership can make to inspire and overcome when things get tough. My hope is that my team can put their best efforts into this mission, and we'll all be great friends by the end of it.
