Hello, friends!
My name is Max Cavada. I am a third year mechanical engineering student at Penn State University from Mechanicsburg, PA. This is my second year as a Biking for Babies missionary, and my first year as a Team Leader!
I joined B4B last year simply because I love babies and I love riding my bike, but it has become so much more than that to me. It's easy to look at B4B and see all the flashiness of it. The nice bikes, the yellow jerseys, the giant support crew van, and the adventure of a lifetime on the National Ride. That's certainly what drew me in to become a missionary. However, these things, although great, only act as the vessel for carrying out our mission.
The true mission I have found with Biking for Babies is one of relationship, sacrifice, and ultimately love; love and respect for the dignity of human life. The dignity that was engrained in each and every one of us when we were created in the image and likeness of God.
I have developed so many new relationships through Biking for Babies. Not only have I strengthened my relationship with God, but the people I have met on my B4B teams, at PRCs, and while sharing our mission have all had a tremendous impact on my life. I do this mission for all of them. I do this mission because I love them.
There is no love, however, without sacrifice. Biking for Babies is the most beautiful way I have found to offer up my sufferings to our Lord for the people I love. I offer up everything I do with Biking for Babies to God for a growth in the culture of life; every training ride, every water bottle filled, every formation meeting attended, and every moment of the National Ride. I truly have faith that God is using all of my sacrifices and sufferings to strengthen the mothers (and fathers!) experiencing crisis pregnancies, as well as promote a culture of life in all parts of our world.
Supporting pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) is an amazing way to promote a culture of life in our world. PRCs help women in so many ways. Many of them offer free ultrasounds, free diapers and wipes, free counseling services, and free parenting classes for mothers and fathers. B4B works to raise money and awareness for these PRCs because of the amazing work they do and the support they have given to so many women who have had nowhere else to turn to. Please consider joining our mission by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Your gift supports our mission to renew the culture of life by forming young adult missionaries and raising awareness and funds for pregnancy resource centers across the country.
Thank you all for your donations and for taking the time to read my story. Please join me in praying for an increase in the culture of life, and for all of the missionaries participating in Biking for Babies this year. Know that I will be praying for each and every one of you! God bless!
