In 2016 a group of Native women banded together to stop a pipeline from destroying their property. They had hopes of turning the property into green and growing space for the community and others. They gave it all they had to protect the drinking water and precious sacred swamps of South Louisiana from a multi-million dollar corporation.

Little did they know that less than a decade later, a portion of those same people who came to stand with them, would under-handedly seek to take that same land as their own through corrupt and manipulative measures.

We need to pay our lawyer who can file the necessary papers to refute this egregious attempt to steal land from Native and AfroIndigenous women with big hearts, tireless dedication, love of the land, but little means.

We will fight until we have no breathe left. We will see our blood join our ancestor in this Earth before we let these colonial settlers repeat the patterns of days far removed. They know and have mentioned that we have no money, they think and claim that they have the power over us - even threatening to un-house our family members.

Yet, just like that pipeline company who was forced to bow and leave our land, these new fat-takers will too.

Please help us, we are not sure how much we need ultimately, it depends on how committed they are to repeating the land theft of their ancestors - but we will not go gently. That's a promise.
