Five years ago, a group of dedicated volunteers had a vision: to create a Pride celebration that reflected the heart, diversity, and spirit of Hollywood, Florida.

That vision became My Hollywood Pride.

Born from the advocacy work of the Hollywood LGBTQ+ Council, founded in 2019, our organization was created to unite LGBTQ+ residents, advocate for equality, and build a more welcoming and inclusive community. Since then, the Council has grown to represent more than 2,000 members while leading initiatives that strengthen LGBTQ+ visibility in government, business, education, and civic life.

On January 22, 2022, we proudly produced the inaugural My Hollywood Pride Festival. What began as a grassroots community celebration quickly became one of South Florida's signature Pride events. Following its success, My Hollywood Pride, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to producing the festival each year through the leadership of an all-volunteer board and planning committee.

In January 2026, we proudly celebrated our 5th Anniversary with our largest festival yet. Under the theme "Out & Proud: 5 Years Young," thousands of attendees joined us as we officially moved to ArtsPark at Young Circle—bringing together live entertainment, community organizations, local businesses, families, youth programming, and LGBTQ+ residents and allies from across South Florida.

Together, we proved once again that Pride Starts Here.

But today, our work faces unprecedented challenges.

Across Florida and around the country, LGBTQ+ organizations are experiencing significant funding reductions as corporations, foundations, and institutions scale back Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in response to political pressure and anti-DEI legislation. These cuts threaten the very organizations doing the everyday work of supporting LGBTQ+ youth, families, seniors, and our community.

At the same time, the need for our work has never been greater.

My Hollywood Pride and the Hollywood LGBTQ+ Council remain committed to creating safe, visible, and welcoming spaces where everyone belongs. Beyond the annual festival, we host community conversations, networking events, youth engagement, advocacy initiatives, educational programs, and partnerships that strengthen our community throughout the year.

Unlike many organizations, My Hollywood Pride is powered entirely by volunteers. Our board members, committee leaders, and volunteers dedicate countless hours outside of their full-time careers because they believe our community deserves to be celebrated, supported, and represented.
