Conference Theme

This year’s theme is "UXperience Aloha". Our theme will celebrate the spirit of Aloha and its influence on Hawai’i, the world of design, and the intersection of both.

Aloha embodies love, compassion, and a sense of community. This theme is about reflecting on how the principles of Aloha integrated into various design disciplines can create meaningful, inclusive, and sustainable solutions, and about being intentional about transforming design with our Aloha going forward. We’d love for this year’s sessions to explore what Aloha in design looks like, feels like, and means, by touching upon one or more of the following values of Aloha:

Akahai, meaning kindness to be expressed with tenderness;
Lōkahi, meaning unity, to be expressed with harmony;
’Olu’olu, meaning agreeable, to be expressed with pleasantness;
Ha’aha’a, meaning humility, to be expressed with modesty;
Ahonui, meaning patience, to be expressed with perseverance.
