For many youth in care, school can come with added challenges such as placement changes, instability, trauma, and limited access to basic necessities, making something as simple as a new backpack or school supplies incredibly meaningful. Back-to-School support helps provide not only the tools needed for success in the classroom, but also a sense of normalcy, confidence, and dignity. For some children, these items may be among the few things they can truly call their own.
