In recognition of Black History Month, the Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) All-School Production presents Harlem Nights After Midnight!
Join me (Gavin Warfield) and my family as we celebrate Black Culture during the Harlem Renaissance movement in collaboration with the HSPVA Black Alumni Network (BAN) and my fellow student artists of HSPVA.
As a 2022-23 recipient of a BAN summer intensive scholarship, I was able to travel and compete at various summer intensives where I was awarded an additional $20,000+ in scholarships towards future intensives and college tuition upon graduation in 2025. I am excited to help HSPVA's Black Alumni Network continue raising funds to help more students gain access to summer intensives, conservatories and development opportunities towards their creative artistry.
I will be performing at the Harlem Nights After Midnight fundraising GALA and in the live SHOW. We will take you back to that electrifying time when the Cotton Club was "the place to be" while the timeless artistry of Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Zora Neale Hurston, Cab Calloway, and their contemporaries were as explosively entertaining as ever. We will celebrate and recognize them with song and dance numbers, woven together by the prose of Langston Hughes.
SUPPORT! PURCHASE! DONATE! SPONSOR!
Help me contribute $1,000 towards our collective fundraising goal of $50,000. Both events will transport you to an era steeped in the elegance and jazz rhythms of the Harlem Renaissance.
