The Combat Control Foundation is coming together to support one of our own. On July 14, 2026, the Bush family suffered the tragic and sudden loss of their oldest son, Barrett Michael Bush, at just 17 years old.

Barrett was the proud son of Zachary and Bridgette Bush, and a beloved older brother to Benjamin and Boone. As a military family, the Bushes touched lives across the country, from the Gulf Coast of Florida and the pine hills of North Carolina to Oldham County, Kentucky, and most recently, Hill City, South Dakota, where Barrett was preparing to enter his senior year of high school.

Barrett was known by all as an "old soul" courteous, deeply faithful, and fiercely loving of his family, his friends, and his country. He was an avid outdoorsman, a talented cross-country and track athlete, and above all, a devoted big brother.

As the Bush family navigates this unimaginable grief, the Combat Control Foundation is launching this fundraiser to ease their financial burdens. Our goal is to keep the focus entirely on the family's immediate and anticipated needs, allowing them the space to grieve without the weight of financial stress.
