About the Event

Teams will compete to create their own custom whiskey blend using the same five donated single barrels. Each team will schedule a 90-minute blending session onsite at The Whiskey Blendery. Blends will then be judged blindly by selected whiskey community judges, with top blends advancing through bracket-style rounds.

This is more than a competition. It is a chance to gather, give, and help build a safe place for survivors to begin again.

Tuesday–Friday: 12:00–6:00 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM–4:00 PM

Each team will schedule a 90-minute blending session after registration. Time slots are first come, first served.

Important Participant Information

Team Rules

Teams must consist of 2–4 people, with one person designated as the Team Lead. The Team Lead is responsible for scheduling the 90-minute blending session during July. Teams that do not schedule and complete their session by July 31 will forfeit their position.

Blending Format

Each team will blend onsite at The Whiskey Blendery using the same five single barrels. The barrels range from 8 to 12 years old, and all teams will work with the same selections to keep the competition fair.

Timing

Each team will have a 90-minute session. Participants should arrive early because the clock starts promptly at the scheduled time. No additional time will be given for late arrivals.

Judging

Entries will be judged blindly by selected local judges with whiskey knowledge and involvement in the whiskey community. Teams will be randomly assigned into brackets, with the top blends advancing through each round. Finalists will be judged by industry experts.

Prize Section

Prizes

1st Place
Each participant on the winning team will receive a complimentary Founding Membership with a team locker in the tasting room, valid for 12 months. The winning team will also receive a barrel head trophy and bragging rights for the year. Total prize value is over $10,000.

2nd Place
$1,000 in gift cards to be used in The Whiskey Blendery gift shop.

3rd Place
$500 in gift cards to be used in The Whiskey Blendery gift shop.

4th Place
A firm handshake — and probably a story worth telling.
