Food Insecurity is Continuing to Rise

The USDA reports an increase in food insecurity, with 33.6 million adults and 13.8 million children now living in food-insecure households. At Big Big Table, we’re committed to addressing this crisis by providing nourishing meals, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting each individual’s unique needs. We aim to build a stronger, more resilient community—one meal and one connection at a time.

Our Pay-As-You-Can Model

Big Big Table offers a dignified approach to food insecurity through our pay-as-you-can model. Our café is open to EVERYONE, allowing guests to contribute through a monetary donation, an in-kind gift, or by sharing their skills with us. By offering flexible pricing and a volunteer-driven experience, we ensure that everyone can earn what they need by giving what they can.

Big Big Table’s Story and Impact

Since opening our doors on the corner of Hudson & West in Buffalo’s Lower West Side in 2021, Big Big Table has served over 12,500 meals! In our third year, we provided over 5,500 lunches—a 33% increase from the previous year. This past year, we were honored as Café of the Year by One World Everybody Eats and won 1st Place in the Next Generation United Pitch 10 competition, highlighting the positive impact of our mission.

Ways to Engage this Giving Tuesday

We are beyond grateful for the support of our community, and we’re excited to finish the year strong. Here’s how you can make a difference:

Donate a Meal: Join us in providing meal tokens for our neighbors. Be one of 250 supporters to give $12 and fund a meal for those in need.
Dine with Us: Stop by the café for lunch, Monday through Friday, 11:00a to 2:30p, and experience the Big Big Table community firsthand.
Volunteer Your Time: Sign up for a three-hour shift in the café and be part of our daily operations.
Spread the Word: Share our campaign with friends or family members, inviting them to learn about Big Big Table and get involved.
