Founded in 1962, Choral Art Society of New Jersey is a group of avocational singers dedicated to the study and performance of great choral masterpieces. Our roots have grown strong in those 60+ years, but we need your help to sustain our reach into the community and beyond.

This January, we're presenting The Cohort: Exploring the shared musical lineage of great English composers, a concert that traces the remarkable family tree of music from teacher Charles Villiers Stanford to his legendary students Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Herbert Howells, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. These composers didn't just learn from Stanford; they learned from each other, creating a web of artistic influence that shaped 20th-century music. Along with works by their contemporaries George Dyson, Rebecca Clarke, and John Ireland, this program celebrates how genius is passed from one generation to the next.
