North Highland Beautification

Introducing the North Highland Beautification Project, a 10-year vision for cohesive, elevated, and charming landscaping and lighting enhancements on North Highland Ave from Atkins Park to Morningside Village. This plan includes:

Warm white uplighting on all trees year-round and candy cane lighting during the holidays
Protected tree beds with seasonal plantings
Lush self-watering hanging baskets & planters
New park benches & trash cans
Branded light pole banners
Several large in-ground landscapes/hardscapes

Why undertake these improvements? In almost every urban planning study, these improvements are key to making the main street more inviting, safer, and charming to be enjoyed by all! The vision will benefit not only our cherished local, small businesses but all residents and visitors alike who will enjoy a more inviting environment, uplifting this historic corridor and maintaining its status as one of the top destinations in Atlanta.
