Access UpRising Foundation began with lived experience.

I'm Courtney Wallace, Executive Director and Co-Founder of AUF. I've lived with a disability my entire life. My daughter, Caylee, and I co-founded Access UpRising Foundation after our own experience with an accessibility barrier made us realize something bigger.

Our experience wasn't unusual. That was the problem.

Too often, people with disabilities are expected to adapt, find another way or accept that an experience simply wasn't designed with them in mind.

We decided to do something about it.

What We're Building

AUF brings lived experience into the rooms where decisions are made, working with businesses, healthcare providers, universities and communities to create practical change.

Our work focuses on accessibility reviews and education, healthcare accessibility, preparing future professionals, adaptive recreation, and community accessibility projects.

Our goal isn't to make people with disabilities better at navigating barriers.

It's to stop building so many of them in the first place.
