Local news needs your support
Thank you for recognizing local news matters and for your donations to our Coronavirus Fund, hosted by the Local Media Foundation. Here are some examples of what we’re able to do with your support:
▪ Feds seize coronavirus test kit materials bound for Bellingham hospital and Northwest
▪ Basic Food benefit households will get extra money during coronavirus pandemic
▪ When will coronavirus peak? Here’s the model Whatcom County is following
Your generosity has blown us away. You have helped us exceed our $27,000 goal with weeks to go.
We're going to continue to publish local news and information that helps you make the best possible decisions for you and your families, and we will do so with the wind at our backs thanks to your kind words and support. We are hopeful that together we can build a new post-pandemic community that is stronger and as thoughtful as the one we left when we entered this shelter-in-place period.
And, we're going to keep this campaign going. We've heard from a few folks who would still like to donate. And we are so very grateful.
Your tax-deductible donation stays local. And it gives us that much more runway — to hire a freelance photographer, to welcome a summer intern, to do more data reporting.
I am humbled by your trust and vow to continue to cover the new coronavirus and its aftermath to the best of our abilities.
