🚌💛 The Belonging Bus is coming to Lane County!

On June 17, 2026, the Lane Transit District Board unanimously approved Circle of Friends' request for Section 5310 funding to purchase an accessible school bus. The award will provide $179,209 toward the purchase of a fully accessible vehicle that will help our students access community-based learning, field trips, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, and so much more.

But there is one more step.

Because this is a federal transportation grant, Circle of Friends is required to contribute a local match toward the purchase. Our community's portion is $31,828.

That means we're inviting our Circle of Belonging to help bring this bus home.

Every gift, whether it's $10, $25, $100, $500, or more, moves us closer to the day our students board a vehicle designed with their needs in mind and head out into the community to learn, explore, connect, and belong.

And here's a simple way you can help:

💛 Invite 10 friends to donate $10.

Why 10?

Because our Belonging Bus will include 10 wheelchair positions, a feature that is incredibly rare for a program like ours. Those 10 spaces represent access, opportunity, and inclusion for students whose needs are too often overlooked.

Imagine what could happen if 10 friends each invited 10 friends.

A small act of generosity can create something truly transformational.

This isn't just a bus.

It's a pathway to libraries, museums, parks, volunteer opportunities, job exploration experiences, and the countless moments that help young people build confidence, independence, friendships, and a sense of belonging in the world around them.

Yesterday, our families helped secure the funding.

Today, we're asking our community to help us cross the finish line.

Will you help us bring the Belonging Bus to Circle of Friends?
