At BEO, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with a vision for positive change to run for office and make a meaningful difference in their communities. We are equally committed to supporting current elected and appointed officials with the tools and resources they need to make informed, effective decisions that benefit all Californians.

As part of our mission, BEO provides impactful programs and initiatives that empower, educate, and connect Black elected officials and community leaders across the state.

These programs include:

• BEO Connections — A space for elected and appointed officials to share resources, collaborate, and expand their professional networks.

• BEO Priority Summit & Policy Forum — A statewide convening to address key policy issues and legislative priorities that impact our communities.

• BEO Being Leadership Conference — Focused on personal and professional development to help leaders grow, inspire, and lead with integrity.

• BEO Virtual Member Meetups — Monthly sessions for reflection, collaboration, and shared learning among members and allies.

• Legend’s Luncheon — Celebrating the contributions of trailblazers who have paved the way for current and future leaders.

• Workshops and More — Skill-building and strategy sessions designed to strengthen advocacy, policy understanding, and leadership impact.

We are currently seeking financial contributions to help our organization build capacity and expand these vital programs.

• Outreach and Engagement — Strengthen community connections through events, digital initiatives, and coalition-building.
