About the Memorial Fund

All proceeds donated to the memorial fund will support both the Besal Fund and the McClung Foundation.

60% of donations will support the Besal Lighting Education Fund
40% of donations will support the McClung Lighting Research Foundation

About the Non-Profits

The Robert J. Besal Lighting Education Fund is a non-profit trust established to provide a continuing scholarship program for advancement of education in illuminating lighting disciplines.

The Besal Fund aspires to encourage talented and committed students to excel at studies which will lead them to a career in the lighting industry.
Each year, through an application and submission process, select students are awarded scholarships.
The newly created Bill Astary Bright Future Scholarship will reward one student with $2,500 in scholarships.

The Jim H. McClung Lighting Research Foundation was the first in the industry to provide grants to researchers and visionaries to improve the understanding of complex industry issues through lighting research.

Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation has encouraged creative thinking, scientific exploration, and new solutions to advance technology, inspire designs and conserve natural resources.
