Our award-winning Benjamin Franklin Philharmonic Orchestra and Band members are urgently trying to raise money for our spring competition in Orlando, Florida. Last school year, we had the opportunity to go back and place top honors for our performance in April. Prior to the pandemic, we traveled every year to compete at different cities across the United States, which offered students performance experience and exposure to real world opportunities. Our students frequently earn awards, such as superior, the highest score given, and sweepstakes at the District Large Ensemble Assessments with LMEA. The lack of funding towards the art and music department, as well as Covid-19 has hindered students ability to purchase new instruments and repair existing ones.
