🐴 20 Years of Believing & Never Giving Up

Help Beauty’s Haven raise $15,000 to carry our horses through the fall and winter and into the next chapter of our mission.

Twenty years ago, Beauty’s Haven Farm & Equine Rescue began with a horse named Beauty, a dream, a great deal of faith, and the belief that every life matters.

On October 3, 2026, we celebrate our 20th Anniversary.

Twenty years.

It sounds like a milestone—and it certainly is. But behind those twenty years are thousands upon thousands of early mornings, late nights, emergency calls, buckets of soaked feed, bales of hay, medications, veterinary visits, farrier appointments, fence repairs, sleepless nights, tears, prayers, heartbreaks, and moments that reminded us why we could never give up.

Beauty’s Haven has never been just a place where horses live.

It is a place where life begins, again.

The Part of Rescue You Don't Always See

People often see the beautiful “after” pictures—the horse who has gained weight, learned to trust again, found a family, or simply discovered that a human hand can offer kindness instead of pain.

What isn't always visible is everything that comes before that photograph.

It is unloading a frightened horse who doesn't understand that she is finally safe.

It is sitting beside an emaciated horse through the night, wondering whether morning will come for her.

It is helping a horse stand, preparing special meals several times a day, administering medications, cleaning wounds, holding a horse for the veterinarian or farrier, repairing fences in the Florida heat, unloading hay, cleaning stalls and paddocks, and doing it all again the next morning.

Sometimes it means months—or years—of rehabilitation.

And sometimes, despite everything we do, rescue means holding a beloved horse in our arms at the end and making sure that the last thing they know in this world is that they are loved.

Then the next morning, the rest of the herd is waiting.

Breakfast still has to be served.

Water troughs still need to be cleaned.

Medications still need to be given.

And another horse somewhere may desperately need help.

So, we get up, and we keep going.

We Have Always Tried to Be There for the Ones Who Needed Us Most

Over the years, Beauty’s Haven has accepted horses with needs that can be extremely difficult and costly to manage—horses suffering from starvation and neglect, broken bones, birth defects, cancer, blindness, respiratory disease, metabolic disease and other serious medical conditions.

Some arrive young. Some arrive old. Some arrive carrying physical scars and/or mental scars that can’t be seen.

One of those horses was Betsy Rose.

When Betsy Rose arrived, she was so weak that she could not hold up her head but there was still light in her eyes that said she believed she could overcome.

She required a sling and around-the-clock care. She had to be repositioned regularly, watched closely, fed carefully and supported as her frail body fought for another day.

We believed with her and, over time, she not only survived, she thrived. She touched the lives of many humans around the world and encouraged them to overcome.

Stories like Betsy Rose's are part of the reason “Believe and Never Give Up” became far more than words to us.

Rescue Has a Price Tag

Love may be at the heart of rescue, but love alone cannot pay the bills.

Beauty’s Haven receives no local, state or federal government funding. We depend on donations from people like you.

Hay and grain must be purchased every week. There are veterinary bills, medications, bloodwork, emergency treatment, dental care, farrier care, supplements and special diets.

Then there are the less glamorous—but absolutely essential—expenses: fencing, equipment maintenance and repairs, electricity, insurance, fuel, trucks and trailers, generators, mowing and pasture maintenance, shavings and the countless supplies required to safely operate an equine rescue.

Over the last year, our veterinary bills climbed above $12,000 while we were simultaneously faced multiple necessary repairs and maintenance to the equipment that makes our rescue work possible.

A single unexpected veterinary emergency can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.

And hay never stops being needed.

Each day, regardless of how much money is in the bank account, come rain or shine, the horses are waiting at the gate.

They don't understand fundraising goals.

They simply know that Beauty’s Haven is home.

❤️ Our Open House Goal: $15,000

As we celebrate twenty years of rescue at our October 3rd Open House, we are asking our friends, supporters and community to help us raise $15,000 to help provide hay and essential care for our herd throughout the rest of 2026.

Reaching this goal would give us something incredibly valuable:

Breathing room.

It would mean facing the hay and grain supply needs with a little less worry.

It would mean knowing that when the farrier comes, when a horse needs medication, or when the veterinarian needs to be called, there are funds available.

Your Gift Becomes Something Real

A donation isn't simply a number on a fundraising page.

It becomes hay or a special meal for a senior horse.

It becomes a hoof trim.

It becomes veterinary care, medication, or a supplement.

It becomes a repaired fence that keeps a horse safe.

It becomes clean bedding and fresh water.

And sometimes...

your donation becomes another sunrise for a horse who almost didn't get one.

Whether you give $5, $25, $50, $100, $500 or more, your gift becomes part of the care that makes second chances possible.

And if you cannot donate, please share our fundraiser. A share costs nothing, but it may put our story in front of the person who is able to help.

Twenty Years Ago, Beauty Started Something

Beauty was the inspiration behind Beauty’s Haven.

What began with one very extraordinary Arabian mare grew into a mission that has touched the lives of horses and humans alike.

There have been incredible victories over these twenty years.

There has also been heartbreak.

We have welcomed horses into this world, held others as they left it, celebrated adoptions, endured emergencies, worked through hurricanes and equipment failures, stretched dollars farther than we ever thought possible, and wondered more than once how we were going to meet the next unexpected expense.

But somehow, with faith, determination and an extraordinary village standing beside us, we kept going.

For twenty years, you have helped us believe.

Now, as we begin our next chapter, we are asking you to help us continue.

Please consider making a donation toward our $15,000 Open House Fundraising Goal.

From the bottom of our hearts—and on behalf of every horse whose life has been changed because someone cared—

Thank you for believing.
Thank you for standing beside us.
Thank you for helping us never give up.
