Hello! My name for those of who may not know, is Alex Compton, and I am grateful to be serving as event coordinator for team 14. I am a sophomore at WKU this year and am studying Mechanical Engineering. On campus I am a member of Phi Gamma Delta where I hold multiple chair positions and am involved with a local ministry group called young life as well as my home church, City Light.
The first time I heard about Bike4alz was one of my first times on campus, a friend of mine introduced me to a member of team 12 as they had just finished their ride less than a month prior. Once I heard of the cause I was immediately intrigued by it. It was such an amazing feat of personal and mental strength while also raising money for one of the most passionate causes I had ever heard of.
My personal connection was that my grandpa has Lewy Body Dementia and when I was young I had to watch this destroy his physical and mental capabilities. It hurt me to watch but his courage and his fight, as well as the fight of everyone else who has suffered inspires me to fight this cause.
