Join Daylight San Diego for a community listening session focused on Black maternal and infant health in San Diego County at The Block Club on June 6 from 1-3 p.m.

Share your stories about pregnancy, birth, postpartum care, parenting, support systems and the experiences surrounding maternal and infant health in our region.

What challenges and barriers to care have you faced while pregnant?
What resources or people have made a difference in your experience as a parent?
What can the county do to improve maternal health care in your community?

Your experiences and input will inform Daylight’s ongoing reporting project exploring Black maternal and infant health, community experiences and the systems that shape care and outcomes in San Diego County. This project and listening session are being produced with support from the USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism 2026 California Health Equity Fellowship and an Engagement Grant..

Participation is voluntary, and attendees are welcome to share only what feels comfortable. [Something about what will be used. Will this be recorded at all or photographed to document? Why we’re hosting this

Too often, conversations about maternal and infant health happen without enough direct input from the people most impacted. We hope this space creates an opportunity for community members to share their experiences, concerns, ideas and hopes for the future.

This event is free, though space may be limited. We encourage attendees to register by June 5 to reserve a spot, but walk-ins will be accommodated if space allows.
