A Legacy in Bloom: 30 Years Rooted in Love and Community, Guided by Us is an intimate evening of celebration honoring the life, vision, and enduring legacy of Bridgette Hempstead and the 30th anniversary of Cierra Sisters.

Guided by us isn't just a theme; it reflects our belief that solutions must be shaped by the very communities they are meant to serve. This special evening hosted by Cierra Sisters will gather community members, partners, supporters, and friends for a warm and meaningful experience rooted in remembrance, gratitude, and hope. Together, we will honor what has been built, celebrate the love that has sustained this work, and invest in the future still unfolding.

Why This Night Matters

For 30 years, Cierra Sisters has shown up for the community with compassion, advocacy, education, and care. What began through Bridgette’s vision has grown into a trusted legacy of support for women and families navigating breast cancer and wellness journeys.

As we step into this next chapter, we are deepening our impact through partnerships that bridge community and research. In collaboration with the GUIDE-EC team at the University of Washington, whose groundbreaking work is reshaping how endometrial cancer is understood and diagnosed among Black women, we are helping ensure that life-saving knowledge reaches the communities it was meant to serve.

This gala is more than a celebration of a milestone. It is an opportunity to honor a legacy in bloom and to help carry it forward.

A Partnership Rooted in Impact

This year’s gala is made possible in part through our partnership with the GUIDE-EC research team at the University of Washington. Their work, one of the largest studies focused on endometrial cancer among Black women, is helping to transform how diagnosis, care, and equity are approached in medicine.

Together, we are committed to ensuring that research does not live only in institutions but is shared, understood, and activated within the community.
