Blueberry has encountered so many obstacles… His life has not been easy. But the light at the end of the tunnel is near!!

For FOUR YEARS, Blue lived neglected and forgotten in a backyard. When he finally escaped, his owner didn't want him back. He ended up at the shelter, where he was placed on the euthanasia list due to fear-based reactivity toward staff. But volunteers saw the incredibly loving boy underneath his fear and fought tirelessly to save him.

Thanks to Saving Dogs, Inc., Blue made it out alive. ❤️Unfortunately, his journey since leaving the shelter has been anything but easy.

Despite completing his training with UpK9LA months ago, endless networking, we could not find him a home. .Thankfully, his trainer and their pack have continued to care for him while he waits.

And now, Blue is facing another obstacle: a persistent case of happy tail that simply won't heal. 💔 We've tried EVERYTHING: cones, bandages, ointments, wound irrigation, and repeated veterinary evaluations. The only thing that prevents him from biting and reopening his tail wound is a muzzle, but prolonged use has significantly affected his quality of life. Every time we think his tail has healed and remove the muzzle, he goes right back at it. Then we’re back to square one. After multiple veterinary consultations, surgical intervention is now the recommended next step.

But there's finally some GOOD NEWS! 🥹 After MONTHS of waiting, Blue has found an incredibly loving family willing to foster him! We want Blue to undergo surgery and recover with his familiar trainer and handlers, where he feels safe, before transitioning into his foster home

We are SO CLOSE to giving Blue the fresh start he deserves. We just need help covering his surgery. We've attached the veterinary estimate for transparency, and 100% of donations will go directly toward Blue's veterinary bill.

Then our Blueberry can finally be himself, a happy tail-wagging dog. Every dollar brings him one step closer to healing and finally going to a real home.
