At The BOLO Project, we believe in building confident, resilient, purpose-driven teens—and this summer, they’re putting those values into action through a powerful service project supporting Friends of Orange County’s Homeless Pets (FOCHP).

FOCHP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving homeless pets a second chance at life. They rescue dogs and cats from shelters—often just hours before they’re scheduled to be euthanized—and place them into loving foster homes until they’re adopted. Their work saves lives, strengthens families, and inspires compassion in our community. That’s a mission our BOLO students are proud to support.

Why This Matters

Last summer, our teens raised $2,500 for Big Heart Ranch, and they’re back to do it again—$2,500 to support the life-saving work of FOCHP. Every dollar raised helps provide medical care, food, shelter, and adoption services for dogs and cats in need—many of whom wouldn’t survive without FOCHP’s intervention.

Who Are The BOLO Project Teens?

BOLO students are high schoolers from diverse backgrounds with one shared goal: to grow into compassionate, purpose-driven leaders. In our program, they learn real-world skills like communication, financial literacy, leadership, and resilience—all through the unique perspective of the dog-human bond.

Now, they’re applying those lessons in a real-world campaign to support a cause they care deeply about.

Why FOCHP?

Since 2003, FOCHP has rescued thousands of animals across Southern California and placed them in forever homes. They are a foster-based organization, which means every animal they save gets one-on-one care in a nurturing home—not a shelter cage. FOCHP goes above and beyond, providing spay/neuter services, medical treatment, and adoption opportunities to animals who might otherwise be forgotten.

Our students are inspired by FOCHP’s commitment to compassion, community, and action. Supporting them is not just about helping animals—it’s about showing what’s possible when people step up for those who can’t speak for themselves.
