Every child deserves access to books at school.

The Worcester Elementary School Library Coalition is a grassroots, parent-led nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that students in Worcester's elementary schools have access to vibrant, welcoming library collections that inspire a lifelong love of reading.

For the first time in decades, students at seven Worcester elementary schools will have a library teacher and we are raising funds to create library collections from scratch. Our goal is ambitious: purchase thousands of new books to revitalize the Sarah Ella Wilson library at Belmont Street School, the Jane Petrella Media Center at Quinsigamond Elementary, and the Robert B. Johnson Media Center at Gates Lane Elementary.

These books will fill library shelves with stories that spark imagination, support classroom learning, reflect students' cultures and identities, and help every child discover the joy of reading. Research consistently shows that access to books is one of the strongest predictors of reading achievement. School libraries help students become stronger readers, more engaged learners, and more confident members of their communities. Yet, creating a strong library collection requires significant investment. With your help, we can build these collections from the ground up.

$500 helps add an entire shelf of high-interest titles that students will return to again and again.
