Get Ready for an Unforgettable Evening of Theater!

Assumption School Presents a Special Benefit Comedy Performance of Brian Copeland's Critically Acclaimed Solo Show: "Not a Genuine Black Man."

Assumption School is thrilled to announce a special benefit performance of the longest-running solo show in San Francisco history: Brian Copeland’s "Not a Genuine Black Man." In a monologue that is both funny and poignant, Brian explores how surroundings make us who we are and how being one of the first Black families in San Leandro shaped him.

This exclusive event will take place on January 23, 2027, at 7:00 PM. Described by critics as "a wildly funny, agonizingly heart-wrenching presentation... a jewel of a show," Copeland’s powerful performance explores identity, community, and resilience.

By purchasing a ticket, you are not only securing a seat to a masterful piece of American theater but also directly supporting the Assumption School HVAC & Campus Improvement Project. Mark your calendars, spread the word, and prepare for an evening that will make you laugh, cry, and think.

Save the date for January 23rd, 2027 (ticket sales begin November 16th)

We look forward to sharing this unforgettable experience with you!
