THE BRILLO PROJECT HOME

Lucca Schmidt, Samo Darwish, and Zachary Greez are the founders of the Brillo Project, a global public art initiative founded in 2024 that promotes democracy, freedom of expression, cross-cultural communication, and mutual respect. Working alongside local artists in each locale, they create murals inspired by the collective's unique interpretation of the Statue of Liberty.

In July 2025, the team completed the first mural in Rio de Janeiro. Proceeds from the 2025 project went to developing a gaming software development center in the Complexo da Maré favelas. They are now developing the second chapter of the project in the South Bronx, where a new mural will be painted at the Access Bronx Charter School with student artists in June and July 2026. Proceeds will support arts and music programming there, helping to inspire creativity and opportunity for the next generation.
