STRONGER TOGETHER.

Celebrating 10 Years of Brown Girls Climb | Building Our Next Chapter

For 10 years, Brown Girls Climb (BGC) has worked to create more than access to climbing. We've built a national community rooted in connection, education, mentorship, leadership, and a shared love for the outdoors.

What started as a movement to create space for women and gender-expansive people of color in climbing has grown into a national nonprofit creating opportunities to learn, grow, lead, and build futures in the outdoors.

As we celebrate this milestone, we're reflecting on how far we've come while looking ahead to the next 10 years.

Access Is Just the Beginning.

Our vision is to create lasting pathways that support our community throughout their outdoor journey.

Our Pathway Forward:

First Outdoor Day

Skills Development

Advanced Education Certification

Leadership

Mentorship

Career

Getting someone outside for the first time matters, but the journey shouldn't end there.

Everyone's path looks different, and these steps won't always happen in this order. This is just one example of how outdoor experiences can grow into education, leadership, mentorship, and careers.

We want our community to have opportunities to develop technical skills, pursue certifications, become leaders, mentor others, and explore careers in the outdoor industry.

"Access is the beginning. Education is the pathway. Leadership is the future."

— Brittany Leavitt, Co-Founder & Executive Director

What Does Stronger Together Mean?

Stronger Together is more than a fundraising campaign. It reflects the values that have guided BGC over the past decade.

Our lives extend beyond the climbing gym and crag. Our communities are navigating challenges in our neighborhoods, on our ancestral lands, and throughout the world.

Being stronger together means showing up for one another through care, education, stewardship, reciprocity, and connection. It means building a more inclusive outdoors while caring for the people, communities, and lands that make these experiences possible.

Celebrating Our Past. Investing in Our Future.

Over the next few months, we'll share stories and milestones from the past decade, celebrating the people, programs, and partnerships that have shaped BGC while sharing our vision for the next 10 years.

Whether you've climbed with us, volunteered, partnered with us, or supported us from afar, you are part of this story. Every donation helps us build a future where our communities aren't just invited outdoors but have the education, resources, and opportunities to lead.

Together, we can turn access into opportunity, education into leadership, and community into lasting change.
