Bryce Blitz, age 13, upright and electric bass student musician, and chamber orchestra member at a local Henderson middle school, is preparing to become a bar mitzvah on August 30, 2025. As part of his bar mitzvah, he has chosen the Jazz Outreach Initiative as his Mitzvah Project cause, for which he will fundraise via a benefit performance at Midbar Kodesh Temple, in duet with Ed Lacala, his private bass teacher, as well as via the community and his invited guests.

Bryce selected Jazz Outreach Initiative for his project because of its ability to reach nearly 10,000 local youth in the Las Vegas area with education, outreach, and performance programs who may not have been able to experience a music program of which Bryce has been very fortunate.

Bryce hopes that his efforts will increase the Jazz Routes program which provides donated and refurbished instruments to local at-risk and disadvantaged youth and provides one year of music lessons and the gift of music to as many kids as possible, as well as to support the Buzzin' in Brass at-risk elementary school education program. Bryce appreciates and is grateful for your generosity in supporting his bar mitzvah project in fundraising for the Jazz Outreach Initiative.
