A year ago, we were about to embark on a big 2023 for BSBC. We were supporting our founder John Martin in his transition out of his role. Hiring three new staff members. And most importantly: creating new leadership pathways for volunteers so that BSBC could become the volunteer-led, collaborative community movement we dream it can be.

Today, we're excited to say that the year was one of the best yet for BSBC.

We refurbished and found new homes for more used bikes than ever before
Over 200+ volunteers gave 4,500 hours of their time in free mobile repair clinics, supporting folks in the shop, and stepping into leadership roles to help guide the co-op
We supported more free mobile bike repair clinics across New Haven, leading to a BSBC space in Newhallville in 2024
