Budding Roses is a free, youth liberation summer camp. For nine (!) years, we have hosted a two-week summer camp that engages youth in social justice workshops, art projects, direct democratic decision-making, youth-led workshops, and experiments in cooking, play, and friendship.

Camp is entirely volunteer run, grassroots funded, and free for families. Your donations make this possible!

At camp, we encourage youth to share their perspectives on issues that impact their daily lives, such colonization, racism, gentrification, student activism, gender, climate change, and mental health. We emphasize youth leadership and decision-making and take our campers seriously as members of our community. We believe it is more important than ever to foster youth-centric programs where we can grow, create and imagine a future world together.

Your support helps us secure a location for camp, buy high quality supplies for activities, cook nutritious collective meals during camp, and provide small stipends to our organizers, counselors, and community partners.

We are currently seeking a new home for camp after the closure of Alder Commons. If you have any connections to a space, please let us know!
