Blue Ridge Haven Foundation was born from a deeply personal question faced by many families affected by autism and developmental disabilities:

What will happen when our children become adults—and who will care for them when we no longer can?

Our vision is to establish a Christ-centered haven in the Blue Ridge Mountains where retreat, respite, residential community, life-skills development, and meaningful work come together. We envision a place where adults with autism and developmental disabilities can experience faith, belonging, purpose, dignity, and hope—and where their families know they are not alone.

Before that vision can become a physical place, we must first build a strong legal, financial, and organizational foundation.

Why We Are Raising $11,000

This first fundraising campaign will help Blue Ridge Haven Foundation complete the essential legal, professional, compliance, and administrative work required to establish and responsibly operate the organization.

Joshua and Sarah Pratt have already personally invested approximately $6,500 toward launching the Foundation. These expenses have included organizational formation, professional services, state and federal filings, banking, technology, communications, and other startup needs. Those expenses were personally contributed by the founders. Gifts to this campaign will support current and upcoming legal, compliance, accounting, insurance, technology, and administrative needs as Blue Ridge Haven Foundation moves forward.

Our goal is to raise another $11,000 to strengthen the Foundation’s launch fund and support the continuing work of establishing Blue Ridge Haven properly and responsibly.

Campaign funds will help support:

Attorney fees and legal guidance
Nonprofit formation and compliance
State and federal registrations and filings
Accounting, bookkeeping, and financial systems
Organizational policies and governance documents
Insurance and professional services
Banking, technology, website, and administrative needs
Initial fundraising and community outreach expenses
