THE COMMON GROUND CONSORTIUM

Different Stories. Shared Humanity.

Help Us Build Common Ground: Connection. Understanding. Community.

A Vision Born From a Changing World

The vision for The Common Ground Consortium was born during one of the most uncertain periods in modern history.

In 2020, as the world slowed down and communities grappled with questions about how we see, support, and treat one another, I began reflecting on something I had witnessed throughout my professional career.

For years, I had worked with companies and corporations to strengthen employee engagement, deliver diversity initiatives, and facilitate conversations about empathy, cultural awareness, and respect.

But I came to recognize something important: much of that work remained within the walls of the organizations where it was delivered.

Real life happens OUTSIDE the walls of the workplace.

It happens in our neighborhoods, our schools, our churches, and the everyday spaces where people interact, build relationships, raise families, and learn to understand one another.

It's where we are free to be ourselves—not because a policy tells us to, but because we choose to show up, listen, and connect.

And that's where understanding matters most.

The Common Ground Consortium was created to bridge that gap.

Inclusion Reimagined

The Common Ground Consortium is a community-centered nonprofit dedicated to bringing people together across cultures, generations, backgrounds, and lived experiences.

We believe inclusion should be more than a corporate initiative, a conversation, or a checkbox. It should be something we experience, practice, and carry into our everyday lives.

Our approach is simple:

Inclusion Innovated.
Inclusion Amplified.
Inclusion Applied.

Through community events, mentorship, youth engagement, cultural experiences, dialogue, and collaborative partnerships, we create opportunities for people to move beyond assumptions, discover shared experiences, and build meaningful relationships.

Because we don't have to agree on everything to learn from one another. And we don't have to be the same to build something extraordinary together.

Our guiding belief is simple:

When people find Common Ground, communities thrive.

Why Your Support Matters

Building stronger communities takes more than good intentions. It takes people willing to invest their time, energy, resources, and belief in what's possible.

Your donation helps turn our vision into action by supporting initiatives that:

Bring communities together through events, conversations, and shared cultural experiences.
Create mentorship opportunities that connect youth and adults across generations and backgrounds.
Encourage leadership and engagement that strengthen individuals, organizations, and neighborhoods.
Build collaborative partnerships with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and community organizations.
Replace division with dialogue by creating welcoming spaces where people can listen, learn, and grow together.

Every contribution matters. Whether you give $10, $50, $100, or whatever amount is meaningful to you, your generosity helps us expand opportunities for connection and community impact.

Your donation isn't simply supporting an event or a program. You're investing in the possibility of a community where people feel welcomed, relationships grow stronger, and differences become opportunities to learn rather than reasons to divide.

Help Us Create Something Bigger

The Common Ground Consortium is more than an organization. It's a commitment to what can happen when we stop focusing solely on what separates us and start exploring what we can accomplish together.

We envision communities where empathy is practiced, understanding is encouraged, young people have opportunities to thrive, and collaboration becomes second nature.

But a vision this important cannot be built alone.

We invite you to be part of it.

Make a donation. Share our campaign. Introduce us to a potential partner. Help us spread the word.

Together, we can create spaces where people connect across differences, discover shared purpose, and build a stronger future for the next generation.

Because at the end of the day, we all share something in common: the desire to belong, to be understood, and to live in communities where we can thrive.

Let's find our Common Ground—one conversation, one connection, and one community at a time.

Donate today and help us turn connection into community impact.

A Note about the Founder

Meet the Founder: Kyle Yvette Young

The heart behind The Common Ground Consortium

Kyle Yvette Young is a longtime advocate for inclusion, cultural understanding, and community collaboration, bringing more than two decades of experience in diversity, inclusion, employee engagement, and organizational culture.

Throughout her career, Kyle has helped individuals and organizations navigate differences, challenge assumptions, and recognize the power of understanding one another. Along the way, she arrived at an important realization: some of our most meaningful opportunities for connection happen outside the workplace—in our neighborhoods, our conversations, and the everyday experiences we share.

That realization helped inspire the creation of The Common Ground Consortium, a community-centered nonprofit dedicated to transforming inclusion from an idea into a lived experience.

Kyle envisions communities where people can connect across cultures and generations, build meaningful relationships, learn from different perspectives, and rediscover what unites us.

Her philosophy is simple: We don't have to be the same to move forward together.

Through community engagement, mentorship, cultural experiences, and collaborative initiatives, Kyle is helping create opportunities for people to turn understanding into action and connection into community impact.

Because building a stronger community doesn't begin with everyone agreeing. It begins with someone being willing to listen, learn, and meet others at Common Ground.
