Building Postpartum Care in New Orleans

In New Orleans, too many families are left without support after birth.

The reality is simple—and urgent:
Most maternal deaths happen postpartum. And most are preventable.

Yet care during this critical time is often limited, inaccessible, or nonexistent—especially for Black families and those navigating systemic barriers to care.

We’re working to change that.

DUENOLA is building a model of community-rooted postpartum support—one that centers dignity, continuity of care, and real access for families who need it most.

Your support helps us:

$25 provides postpartum hygiene and recovery essentials for one new parent or fresh laundry for 1 week.
$50 provides one complete perinatal care kit for a birthing parent.
$100 supplies infant feeding essentials, including bottles, formula support, or lactation supplies.
$150 provides nutritious meals for one family for an entire week.
$250 helps furnish a family's bedroom with linens, towels, and comfort items.
$500 provides approximately three months of diapers and wipes for one infant.
$1,000 helps cover case management, doula care, and family support services for a resident family.
$2,500 helps sponsor one month of safe, stable housing and wraparound postpartum support.
Monthly Giving ensures that we can continue meeting their most immediate needs (safe housing, nourishing food, and 24-hr doula support).
