For more than 20 years, ASDAH has worked to challenge anti-fat bias, educate healthcare professionals, build community, and advocate for a future where people of all sizes, especially those most impacted by systemic oppression, can access equitable, barrier-free, and compassionate care. This campaign shares its name with ASDAH's 2026–2027 organizational theme, Building What We Need: Rooted in Care, Community, and Structural Change.

Throughout the coming year, you'll see this theme reflected in our education, programming, community gatherings, advocacy, and leadership development. This fundraiser is how we help make our vision possible.

What We're Building

Your gift helps us:

Expand community programming and educational opportunities.
Develop more trainings for healthcare professionals and organizations.
Build the reserves needed for long-term sustainability.
Prepare for future staffing and stronger organizational infrastructure.
Compensate marginalized leaders more fairly for the expertise, leadership, and lived experience they bring to this work.

We believe liberation work shouldn't depend on burnout or chronic underpayment. Communities deserve organizations led by people who have the support to lead sustainably.
