Altadena Brick by Brick, a nonprofit dedicated to keeping long-time Altadena residents in Altadena following the devastating Eaton Fire, announces a fundraising drive to support its “Bust a Move” Initiative — an inventive program that will physically relocate donated houses onto fire-cleared lots at a fraction of the cost of new construction.

The Bust a Move Initiative is a three-way partnership between Altadena Brick by Brick, Teresa Fuller of the Teresa Fuller Real Estate Team, and Eletrice Harris of SoCal NOMA (National Organization of Minority Architects). By sourcing donated homes and coordinating their relocation to fire-affected parcels in Altadena, the collaboration dramatically reduces the financial barrier for generational families seeking to return to the community they call home.

“The Eaton Fire didn’t just destroy houses — it threatened to permanently displace families who have been rooted in this community for generations,” said Erica, Founder & Executive Director of Altadena Brick by Brick. “The Bust a Move Initiative is how we fight back. By moving donated homes onto burned-down lots, we can get families back where they belong, at a lower cost.”

Teresa Fuller brings deep local market expertise and a powerful network of property resources to the collaboration, helping identify and secure viable donated homes for relocation. Eletrice Harris of SoCal NOMA provides architectural oversight and design guidance to ensure each relocated home is thoughtfully integrated into its new site — meeting code, honoring the neighborhood’s character, and creating a safe, dignified place to live.

Funds raised through this campaign will cover home relocation costs and logistics, site preparation, and the architectural and permitting work required to move each home. Every dollar raised directly supports Altadena families reclaiming their place in the neighborhood.
