Local news needs your support
The Butner-Creedmoor News relies on community support from subscribers, advertisers and readers like you to fulfill its mission as a comprehensive source of news and information and an independent voice for our community. Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, we need your help more than ever.
The unprecedented public health crisis and its restrictions on business and commerce have resulted in steep reductions to the newspaper's advertising revenue, our No. 1 source of funding. We've ramped up our efforts to provide readers with a 24/7 digital news source.
We're providing our COVID-19 coverage to all website users free of charge, and we're fighting for our readers' right to know the extent of the virus' impact. Our sister newspaper The Wilson Times joined a coalition of news outlets that retained North Carolina's top media law attorneys to secure information from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services on COVID-19 outbreaks at nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Through parent company Restoration NewsMedia, your newspaper played a role in obtaining these vital public records.
We've also partnered with the Local Media Association to support our coverage of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Our COVID-19 Local News Fund accepts tax-deductible contributions that will allow us to continue bringing you the latest and most comprehensive news about the virus and its impact on our community.
