Cat Thompson, a speech pathologist, foster mother, and lifelong equestrian, co-founded Butterfly Dreams Farm with Tracy Mosher after witnessing the profound impact horses had on a special child in her life. Through horseback riding, her daughter Alli gained the strength to walk and the ability to communicate. Horses provided her with reasons to laugh, smile, and created a place where she felt safe both physically and emotionally.

Our vision for Butterfly Dreams Farm Equine Therapy (BDFET) is to be a space of healing and joy for every child and adult we serve. In each interaction, we strive to honor the memory of Alli and foster a safe environment where our students can discover strength and healing. Our program offers Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding, both highly effective in treating physical, emotional, and cognitive deficiencies in children and adults.

Our certified therapists, instructors, and volunteers are dedicated to spreading joy while building both physical and emotional strength, instilling confidence, and providing a collaborative and customized therapeutic experience for each client with our beloved horses. Our compassionate and encouraging approach helps clients grow, learn, and heal, bringing smiles and lasting positivity to everyone we serve.

Our program thrives thanks to the generous contributions of donors and supporters who believe in our mission and may have witnessed its positive impact on their own children, family members, or friends. As we continue to grow, we invite new supporters to join us in our mission. We are looking to partner with corporations, physicians, local businesses, and other community organizations.

Many of our clients have financial needs that exceed those of the average individual. While some expenses may be covered by insurance, this is not always the case. One of our commitments to the community is to never turn away a client due to their inability to pay.

Butterfly Kisses and Pony Wishes is a campaign designed to support our clients. Your support for this campaign directly contributes to either full or partial assistance, helping our clients keep their feet in the stirrups—growing, healing, and thriving.
