My name is Rachel and I am beyond excited to be partnering up with BvB Dallas for my first year to TACKLE ALZ!
I partnered with BvB in honor of my grandma, Joyce.
I sadly lost my beautiful grandmother, or as I called her "Grammie", to Alzheimer's on February 22nd, 2017. I always say Alzheimer's is just as hard on the family as it is the person diagnosed with it. Grammie was diagnosed with ALZ in 2006. It was incredibly tough to watch this disease slowly take over her mind and body. It started with the memory loss and ended with the inability to walk or eat on her own. I watched her become increasingly frustrated as she knew something was wrong with her, but there was nothing that could be done.
BvB Dallas is a non-profit organization that hosts a powder-puff football game for a day of fun, fellowship, philanthropy and enjoyment as a way of raising money for Alzheimer’s research and awareness. Founded by sisters whose father was afflicted by Alzheimer’s, BvB is a personal way for young professionals across the country to raise awareness, funds and support to TACKLE ALZHEIMER'S FOREVER.
This year, we will be in the Cotton Bowl on August 7, 2021 playing our flagship football game! Your donation of $25 or more gets you a seat at the game and to enjoy a night of fun and celebration in getting closer to the goal of eradicating Alzheimer's Disease.
This is the last time I saw my Grammie. This is why I play.
