About the Spring Banquet

Each year for nearly 50 years, The Red & Black has celebrated student leadership during a spring banquet. It is a time for students to come together and reflect on their year as well as alumni, friends and board members to meet and mingle. We honor students through peer-selected departmental awards and via our three scholarship programs. This banquet is also a fundraising opportunity for The Red & Black, which is an independent nonprofit organization.

Dinner and Drinks will be included with the cost of your ticket. All proceeds raised during the banquet will go towards our student scholarship programs, student stipends and travel opportunities.

Evening Program

5:30 - 6:30 p.m. cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres; silent auction

6:30 p.m. dinner

7 p.m. awards

8-8:30 p.m. dessert and conversations

Sponsors’ names will be included on the invitations, RSVP page, programs, and a special thank you made during the program.

Lead Sponsor
$750

Lead sponsors will sponsor a 10-person table at the banquet. Sponsors’ names and/or logo will be displayed at the center of the table.
Tables can be filled by the sponsor’s guests or in collaboration with The Red & Black.
Sponsors’ names will be included on the invitations, RSVP page, programs, and a special thank you made during the program.

Headline Sponsor
$1,000

The Red & Black Spring Banquet will be “presented by” our Headline Sponsors.
Headline Sponsors will sponsor a 10-person table at the banquet. Sponsors’ names and/or logo will be displayed at the center of the table.

About The Red & Black

Our student-run newsroom serves the University of Georgia and Athens communities with daily news at redandblack.com and a weekly newspaper, The Red & Black, which was founded in 1893. Every year more than 250 students participate in our organization, getting hands-on experience in community journalism and newsroom leadership. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is funded through advertising and generous donations from supporters like you.
