ShadeOutDM Team welcomes you & your pup! We got special permission for our walk to begin before the actual event due to the Park Rules (see below) but we want to show our support for the ALS community since this disease also affects many of our fur-babies too! Who: all pups & their owners that want to support our mission Date: Sunday Oct. 22nd, 2023 Time: arrive by 7:30am & leave by 8:30am (we don't want anyone to get a citation) Location: Mission Bay in San Diego, CA 92109 Attire: Anything Purple! (Purple is the ShadeOutDM color) Cost: $10 each 4 legged or 2 legged The price of this event is to help us fund the expense of having a booth at this event (they've discounted the price from $2,500 to only $1,500 for us - due by the 15th) like all of the events that we attend, it's normal for us to have to pay a booth registration fee (it's how they make their money for these events) so this early morning dog walk will help us pay to have the booth during their event which starts at 10:00am - please feel free to stay and join us but if you have your pup with you then you probably shouldn't break the park rules (the city is very strict on this rule!) More information will be sent to you via email about a week prior to the event! ***Park rules: 1. No dogs allowed between 9:00am-4:00pm (all owners will be cited/fined by the City of San Diego if dog remains on the grounds after 9:00am) 2. All dogs must remain on a leash (not to exceed 8 ft.) 3. All dog waste must be picked up (it is illegal to allow a dog to defecate on public property - SMDC, Sec 44.0304.1 requires immediate removal of any feces to be placed in a proper trash receptacle.) ****************** TEAM #SHADEOUTDM OUR STORY Event: Greater San Diego Walk Date: Sunday, October 22, 2023 Team: #ShadeOutDM Did you know that pups develop ALS too??? It's called DM - Degenerative Myelopathy and the dog studies ARE contributing to the human ALS studies in hopes of developing a CURE or at least they're working to slow down the progression of the disease! DM affects over 100 breeds of pups and, like people, their life expectancy is about 2-4 years from symptom onset. Shade Out DM Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about DM and has been a supporter of the ALS community since we began this endeavor in 2017....
