The American Pediatric Surgical Association Foundation (APSAF) is the philanthropic partner of APSA in support of pediatric surgical innovation and discovery, surgeon-scientist career development, member education, and other efforts which ensure access, quality, and equity in the surgical care and lives of all children.

It has served as a gateway for young scientific investigators to become competitive for major external grants. Many previous APSAF scholars have successfully used their seed grants to acquire NIH funding and clearly provide justification of the tremendous return on investment experienced by the Foundation.

The APSA Foundation Research Support Grants have been renamed the Jay Grosfeld, MD Scholar Grants to honor the lifelong legacy created by Dr. Jay Grosfeld and his immense contributions to APSA.
