Each Special Olympic county program needs to raise their own funds for uniforms, events, transportation, etc. It takes a good amount of money each year to put on a quality program as no athlete is ever charged to compete.

Every one of the Road Rally leaders has a passion for Special Olympics due to a personal connection.

John has a daughter who is an athlete. He and she have been active as a coach, partner, and athlete in Special Olympics for quite a long time.

Kevin has helped Special Olympic athletes at the little league ball fields through a program called Challengers.

For my wife and I that connection is having a son, Andy, who has been an athlete for 23 years. During those years, Special Olympics has given our son and our family a lot. We watched Andy grow skills, achieve goals, win championships, gain friends and a community within Special Olympics. We decided we had to give back. And since Andy is also a DJ who has helped with many parties for the athletes, the path to the DJAJ Road Rally was established in 2017.
