ALMA, A Love for Missions Abroad, was founded in 2018 by Mike and Teresa Oswald to bring life-changing medical care to the people of Guatemala.

Mike has been traveling to Guatemala on medical missions since 2007. After years of seeing the great need, he started ALMA to work hand-in-hand with local doctors to serve indigenous communities.

We run three mission trips each year across Sololá, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala City, and Antigua. Beyond surgeries, we also support a special needs school and run community projects to help indigenous families.

Because we run extremely lean with no paid U.S. staff and very low overhead, your donation goes almost entirely to direct care. Every dollar stretches far by helping patients, strengthening local communities, and giving volunteers renewed purpose.
