A Film Festival by Activists for Activists

SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival uses the power of film to inspire environmental action and deepen our love for the natural world. Each year, the festival brings people together through stories that celebrate wild places, illuminate the challenges facing our planet, and invite us to consider what we can do to care for the places we call home.

This year marks the fifth year that Living Earth School has hosted this inspiring festival in Charlottesville. We’re thrilled to once again gather our community to celebrate the wonder of nature - and the connections it creates between people and place.

For this year’s program, we’ve hand-selected a collection of adventurous documentaries and short films that moved, challenged, and inspired us. Our guiding theme is Earth Care, People Care - a reminder that caring for the natural world and caring for one another are deeply connected.

These are films that will make you laugh, wonder, learn, and perhaps even shed a few tears - tears of joy, grief, hope, and possibility. Together, they invite us to see the world a little differently and remember that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.

Come be inspired. Come learn. Come celebrate the wild places that sustain us. And come connect with a community of people who care deeply about creating a more just, connected, and thriving world - for people and for the more-than-human world we share.

All proceeds from the event support Living Earth School’s mission to nurture and deepen our relationships with nature, ourselves, and our communities - simply stated as: Earth Care, People Care.
