The National Museum of Forest Service History's 2026 Saving History Auction is honored to give you experience and baskets from around the United States. With our mission to share the rich history and story of America’s conservation legacy we wanted to focus on all the things we love and share them with you.

When you bid in the Saving History 2026 auction you help:

Individuals and families visit the Museum's campus for the 10th season

We have a special project as part of this auction. When you donate, if you select the Fund “Get the Desk to the NCLC!” your donation will go toward getting the lobby visitor welcome desk to Missoula and the center.

US Forest Service retiree Harv Skjerven handcrafted this gorgeous cherry desk that will grace the lobby of the National Conservation Legacy Center as visitors enter the building. Harv has volunteered hundreds of hours to create a four-piece circular desk (on rollers) that is both beautiful and functional. The desk is almost finished and it will be showcased at the Center’s grand opening on July 17. Please help us fund the $3,000 needed to transport the desk from Harv’s home (Minocqua, Wisconsin) to Missoula. Harv and his wife will be using a rental truck.
