We’re excited to announce our Earth Day Volunteer Event Auction!

Corporate teams are invited to bid for the opportunity to spend Earth Day (4/22) volunteering at 412 Food Rescue's Good Food Project! Bidding starts at $500, and the winning group (up to 12 volunteers) will experience a hands-on day of service, taking over the GFP. The group will help keep food out of the waste stream by using surplus food to prepare meals and grocery bags for our community!

The winning group will receive Good Food Project t-shirts and 412 Food Rescue swag packs for each participant, a special Earth Day Instagram takeover highlighting your team’s impact throughout the day, and a wrap-up article featuring the event which will be shared on our website and social accounts.

About 412 Food Rescue: Driven by the belief that good food belongs to people, not landfills, 412 Food Rescue launched in Pittsburgh, PA, in March 2015 to divert fresh food from going to waste by redirecting it to people facing food insecurity.

In the United States, as much as 40% of food produced is wasted, while 1 in 8 people go hungry. To date, 412 Food Rescue has diverted over 35 million pounds of food bound for the waste stream in Western Pennsylvania, the equivalent of more than 27 million meals, mitigating over 65 million pounds of CO2 emissions in the process. On a monthly basis, the organization works with over 654 food retailers and 480 nonprofit partners.

Today, 412 Food Rescue is the largest volunteer food rescue organization in the country with a growing community of 23,000+ volunteers. Since more than 80% of the food for pick up is fresh, timely delivery is essential. 412 Food Rescue developed an innovative, integrated platform, Food Rescue Hero, which includes a proprietary app that makes claiming food rescues easy and convenient, guiding each volunteer every step of the way from pick up to delivery. Food Rescue Hero is licensed for use at 18 food rescue organizations in North America.
