A safe home. An education. A future.

For 16 years, Vertile has been helping children in Haiti find something every child deserves: safety, education, stability, and people who believe in them.

This year, our Annual Giving Campaign goal is $150,000.

And to help us get there, Melissa and Rico Changeux and Eric Roza will match every dollar donated, up to a total of $50,000.

100% of every donation supports our programs in Haiti. Our Board covers all U.S. administrative and fundraising expenses.

Meet Christie

Christie was born into extraordinarily difficult circumstances. Her mother, who had grown up in an orphanage herself, is disabled in both hands and suffers from severe epilepsy that caused her to collapse without warning. She had survived sexual violence and was living in a small sheet-metal home with almost no support or protection.

When Christie came to Vertile, she was desperately sick. She wasn’t gaining weight and suffered from recurring infections, with oozing blisters and sores across her skin and scalp. Some became so badly infected that they had to be drained, and the infection caused such a strong odor that people often pushed her away and wouldn’t let her come close.

At Vertile, Christie was bathed every day, her skin was treated daily, and she received the medical care she needed.

Slowly, Christie got better.

Today, Christie is healthy, in school, and thriving.

The little girl people once avoided is now a girl everyone wants to be around and one we are incredibly proud of.

Stories like Christie’s are why Vertile exists.
