Cirque du Sanctuary supports Rancho Compasion’s work of providing sanctuary for rescued farmed animals, educational and community programs for at-risk and local youth, and a holistic farm-to-table organic garden program.

About Us

Rancho Compasión envisions a world where animals are no longer seen as here for human use. At the sanctuary, our 120+ resident formerly-farmed animals are not food, property, or products—they can simply just be. A dedicated team of staff and volunteers provide 'round-the-clock care to 11 different species who come from backgrounds of neglect, abandonment, or abuse, while also leading youth education programs and tending to the lush farm-to-table Compassion Garden.

Founded in 2015, Rancho Compasión has reached thousands of visitors from around the world through its virtual and in-person tours, festivals and events, volunteer programs, outreach and internships, and youth involvement. Our youth programs nurture ecological connection, socio-emotional growth, interspecies care, expansive discovery, and kindness through field trips, afterschool programs, and summer camps.

We are vegan because we believe in reducing harm to our fellow earthlings and expanding our circle of compassionate care to all species. We believe a vegan future is possible through compassionate community engagement and education.
